We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Pharmacist to join our team at the University of Miami's Lennar Medical Center. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and supervise the operation of the centralized intravenous admixture program, with a focus on preparing and monitoring chemotherapeutic and investigational intravenous therapies.
- Supervise the unit-dose drug distribution program, ensuring accurate and prompt delivery of medications and controlled substances to hospital inpatients.
- Provide current and accurate drug information to healthcare professionals and patients, including new medications, dosage requirements, indications, contraindications, and pharmacology.
- Supervise the accurate and efficient dispensing of outpatient prescriptions for discharge, day surgery, outpatient clinics, and employee patients.
- Effectively communicate with physicians, nurses, purchasing technicians, pharmacy technicians, and other hospital personnel to promote and ensure rational drug therapy.
- Current licensure in good standing in the State of Florida and a degree in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy.
- PharmD required; consideration will be given to candidates who have been grandfathered by the state of Florida to keep their licenses active/current.
- One year hospital experience required.
- Good organizational, problem-solving, and computer skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with all levels of UM Sylvester staff, physicians, and others.
