About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team at Schultz Veterinary Clinic. As a key member of our medical staff, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our veterinarians in delivering top-notch medical services.

Responsibilities
  • Administer medications, assist with treatments, and perform diagnostics and monitoring tasks to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
  • Assist with anesthesia and surgery procedures, including patient preparation, induction, and recovery.
  • Provide dental care, including ultrasonic cleaning and polishing, and assist with dental surgery.
  • Collect, prepare, and run laboratory samples, and interpret results as needed.
  • Prepare invoices, discharge instructions, and client informational tools to ensure seamless communication with pet owners.
  • Communicate with clients regarding hospitalized patients, provide updates, and educate them on at-home care procedures.
  • Assist with reception and front desk duties as needed, including answering phones, booking appointments, and admitting/discharging patients.
Requirements
  • Must have the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and manipulate up to 50 pounds independently and over 50 pounds with a coworker.
  • Must be able to work in a noisy environment with moderate sound levels.
  • Must be able to work with a variety of pets that may bite or scratch, and occasionally be exposed to anesthesia, radiation, biological hazards, and medication/controlled substances.
  • Must have good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity, and visual acuity to use a keyboard and operate equipment.
