Job Overview

As a key player in our operations, the Refractory Systems Technician will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of refractory systems. This role involves a variety of critical tasks aimed at maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and assist in the upkeep of refractory systems.
  • Engage in tundish installations by documenting materials used, supervising tundish deskulling, and preparing installation records.
  • Ensure that tundish spraying equipment is properly maintained and operational.
  • Keep track of refractory inventory levels.
  • Actively participate in and promote the established employee safety initiatives.
  • Plan and schedule refractory maintenance outages effectively.
  • Monitor and evaluate refractory performance metrics.
  • Report on refractory performance to the team or clients as necessary.
  • Collaborate with clients to assess their immediate and future refractory needs.
  • Coordinate the delivery of refractory materials.

Qualifications and Skills:

A college degree is preferred. Candidates should possess strong verbal communication skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, and the capability to collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook is essential. This position may require flexible working hours, including overtime and on-call availability.
