Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our team at Sigma Healthcare Staffing. As a Medical Technologist, you will be responsible for performing qualitative and quantitative tests in assigned sections, following established guidelines and predetermined criteria.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform tests and calculations, document and report results
  • Follow established QA/QC policies and procedures
  • Operate, calibrate, conduct performance checks and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment
  • Maintain procedures, records and logs
  • Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance and/or results and use knowledge, deductive skills and judgment to troubleshoot and resolve them
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related science and successful completion of an approved Medical Technology internship program, or
  • Medical Laboratory Technician - High school diploma or equivalent and Associate degree in a laboratory science (chemical or biological science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited college or university and completion of a clinical laboratory internship preferred
Certification/Licensure
  • Certified as an MT/MLS or MLT by one of the National Commission of Health Certifying Agencies or by an agency recognized by the Hawaii Department of Health Laboratories Branch
  • State license as a Technologist or Technician
Skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both in verbal and written form
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and with a team
  • Excellent customer service skills
Additional Requirements
  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as, but not limited to, lab coats, gloves, face shields
  • Will be completing a mask fitting upon hire
