Embedded Software Engineer

About the Role:
Nexeo Staffing is seeking a talented Embedded Software Engineer to lead the development of software solutions for unmanned robotic vehicle control systems. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and testing software that powers programmable actuators, perception sensors, and advanced vehicle control systems.
Responsibilities:
- Lead development of embedded applications for unmanned vehicle systems, including refining requirements, design, and testing phases.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration and seamless performance.
- Conduct design and code reviews to support team success and maintain high standards.
- Analyze production data to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex software issues.
- Write and maintain high-quality, efficient, and extensible C++ code tailored specifically for embedded environments.
- Advocate for implement testing-first methodologies, utilizing unit tests, integration tests, and system tests.
- Provide mentorship to junior team members, offering technical guidance and fostering problem-solving skills.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
- 10+ years of full-time professional experience in designing and developing embedded software systems using C/C++ for real-time embedded processes.
- Proficient in developing and integrating software for vehicle control systems, with strong ability to debug complex embedded systems.
- Familiar with AUTOSAR coding standards and object-oriented design principles, particularly SOLID principles.
- Knowledge of control algorithms and electromechanical systems.
- Experience using Git version control for software management.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration and documentation.
What We Offer:
- Competitive salary range: $100K - $150K Annually | DOE
- Day Shift | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM | Monday - Friday
- Flexible schedule with weekly calls with Australian counterparts may require availability from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM
