Key Responsibilities- Documentation and Data Entry: Accurately and thoroughly document patient medical histories, physical examinations, procedures, and treatment plans as dictated by healthcare providers. Enter patient information into the electronic health records (EHR) system with precision and in compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations.
- Assistance with Examinations: Accompany healthcare providers during patient visits and assist with various medical procedures as needed.
- Transcription and Record Management: Transcribe medical notes and dictations, ensuring all information is correctly recorded. Monitor and maintain the integrity and confidentiality of medical records, adhering to HIPAA and other privacy regulations.
- Communication and Administrative Support: Relay information between healthcare providers and patients, ensuring clarity and accuracy. Support the healthcare team with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and coordinating referrals.
- Compliance and Quality Assurance: Stay updated on and comply with all healthcare regulations, policies, and procedures. Ensure that all documentation and data entry is accurate and complete.
- Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree in a related field is a plus). Prior experience as a Medical Scribe or in a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Language Skills: Bilingual - English and Spanish.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of medical terminology and the ability to learn quickly. Excellent typing and data entry skills. Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems is a plus.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion. Thrives in a fast-paced environment.
