You will also act as a professional educator and resource for new employees, demonstrating clinical expertise and competence.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate daily activities and distribute work in the Mother Baby Unit during scheduled shifts.
- Act as a professional educator and resource for new employees, demonstrating clinical expertise and competence.
- Provide direct patient care to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Set priorities based on the situation at hand and manage a unit during an eight to twelve hour shift.
- Work with a unit-specific patient population and provide care and services as needed.
- Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Demonstrated proficiency in skills applicable to designated area within probationary period.
- Demonstrated ability to assume Charge Nurse responsibilities and clinical expertise in area.
- Successful completion of a management course prior to appointment, or within six months of employment.
- Two years RN experience or One year as a RN AND Two years as a LPN.
- Two years recent experience in specialty.
- Certified in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
- Completion of the Charge-Preceptor course at Northside.
- Certification in area of specialty.
