Nursing Department Leader

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Supervisor/Charge Nurse to join our team at Rehabilitation Institute of South San Antonio. As a key member of our nursing department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the provision of safe and effective patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Assure the continuity of care and report pertinent information to management and administration.
- Effectively communicate unusual occurrences or complaints for follow-up and intervene immediately when needed.
- Ensure the nursing department staff performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
- Ensure occurrence of appropriate documentation, including documentation of medical necessity, by staff in medical records; monitor completion and revisions to the Interdisciplinary Care Plan.
- Assist to review and evaluate risk and quality indicators, patient satisfaction results, and outcomes in order to continually improve performance and outcomes; communicate this information to the nursing department.
- Assure education and training is provided to nursing staff on Quality Indicators (QIs) and assure timely and accurate QI assessments and scoring are performed.
- Graduate of accredited registered nurse program with current licensure in the state. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support required.
- Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN) preferred.
- Minimum of two years of experience in rehabilitative or acute care setting and/or demonstrates leadership ability.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, evaluate and direct activities of clinical personnel; effective oral and written communication skills, in English with additional languages preferred; proficiency in basic computer skills required.
- Demonstrates problem solving and critical thinking skills.
