ESOL Adjunct Faculty Position

Lone Star College is seeking a qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) courses. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating engaging lessons, evaluating student progress, and maintaining a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities- Teach ESOL courses at various times and locations
- Create lesson plans that promote student involvement and application of material
- Evaluate student progress and provide timely feedback
- Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Meet with students before or after class, or by appointment, to discuss progress and provide support
- Bachelor's degree or higher in TESOL/TESL/TEFL, Second Language Acquisition, Linguistics, or English where English is taught as a foreign language
- 12 hours of coursework in TESOL/TESL/TEFL, Second Language Acquisition, and Linguistics
- Secondary/postsecondary TSEOL/TESL/TEFL certificate, CELTA, or DELTA
- 3 years of ESOL teaching experience at secondary/postsecondary level
- Evidence of 12 hours of coursework in at least 3 of the following: language teaching methodologies, the nature of language/languages, the structure of English, second language acquisition, intercultural communication, and practicum experience
The work is sedentary, and the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items, or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
