Job Summary

This is a part-time adjunct faculty position at Lone Star College. The successful candidate will teach High School Equivalency/GED Preparation and developmental education courses to students enrolled in a Continuing Education trade program.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Teach High School Equivalency/GED Preparation and developmental education courses to students at various times and locations.
  2. Create engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of the material.
  3. Submit required college reports and forms in a timely manner.
  4. Utilize, update, and submit a course syllabus for each course, following established institutional guidelines.
  5. Meet with and advise students either before or after class or by appointment, electronic communication, or other appropriate methods.
  6. Evaluate students to measure their progress in achieving course objectives and inform students in a timely manner of their progress.
  7. Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.
  8. Attend annual meetings, trainings, and orientations as required.
  9. Complete 15 hours of onboarding training and 15 hours of professional development requirements.
  10. Perform other reasonable, related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years of related work experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in English or Math is preferred.
  • TEXAS Teaching Certificate is preferred.
Compensation

$53.82 per contact hour.
