About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Programmer Analyst Lead/Advanced to join our team at the Maryland Department of Transportation. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for overseeing the application services programming for various computer systems supported by our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior IT Programmer Analysts
  • Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain applications systems and programs using generally accepted computer programming languages or other developmental tools
  • Lead or review code from IT professionals, ensuring high-quality and efficient solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve application problems
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including user manuals and technical guides
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to improve our systems and processes
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field
  • Two years of experience designing, developing, testing, implementing, and maintaining applications systems and programs
  • One year of experience leading or reviewing code from IT professionals, with proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL)
  • Strong project management skills, with experience leading IT application development teams
  • Proficiency in developing web-based systems using GitHub, Visual Studio, VBScript, JavaScript, C#, WEB API, and REST API
  • Database management experience, with proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server, MS Access, Oracle, TOAD, and other database tools
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with users, vendors, and cross-functional teams
