The Custodial Operations Supervisor is responsible for managing janitorial services at designated federal contract sites. This role involves leading a team to ensure a pristine and secure environment for all stakeholders.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily operations and staff performance at the contract site, ensuring compliance with cleaning standards and schedules.
  • Report directly to the Manager of Janitorial Services or the Director of Facilities Operations.
  • Maintain comprehensive records, including daily service logs, inspections, inventory assessments, quality checks, and employee evaluations.
  • Engage in hands-on cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, buffing, and carpet maintenance.
  • Adhere to all contractual obligations, meeting established timelines and quality benchmarks.
  • Manage inventory levels and communicate needs for replenishment effectively.
  • Coordinate with on-site representatives to facilitate cleaning and maintenance projects.
  • Develop and implement corrective and preventive measures to address performance challenges.
  • Train and mentor team members to achieve high standards in custodial tasks.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in janitorial or facility maintenance roles.
  • Preferred experience in multi-site facilities management.
  • Experience with federal contracts is a plus.
  • CIMS certification or experience in lead building operations is desirable.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Ability to pass comprehensive background checks.
  • Possession of a vehicle for transportation during shifts is necessary.
  • Flexibility to work in various environments and conditions.
  • Willingness to work a varied schedule, including potential early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to handle equipment and materials, including lifting, carrying, and maneuvering.
  • Occasional lifting of weights up to 50 lbs.
  • Work independently with sound judgment and initiative.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience operating maintenance equipment such as carpet shampooers and buffing machines.
