SURTASS Technical Advisor

The Leidos National Security Sector is seeking a skilled SURTASS Technical Advisor to join our team in Virginia Beach, VA. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for participating in the planning, execution, and reporting of new equipment installations and existing SURTASS system upgrades. This includes communications, array processing, navigation, and ADNS/INC III network systems.
This is a predominantly independent position that requires the candidate to work with minimal supervision, lead technical repair activities on site or remotely, oversee the installation and upgrades of SURTASS electronics systems, and may be assigned as a government representative to direct and approve shipboard installations conducted by other system engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in the planning, execution, and reporting of new equipment installations and existing SURTASS system upgrades.
- Lead technical repair activities on site or remotely.
- Oversee the installation and upgrades of SURTASS electronics systems.
- May be assigned as a government representative to direct and approve shipboard installations conducted by other system engineers.
- Direct interaction with embarked non-Leidos entities in support of the contract for array evolutions, mission requirements, communications plans, port entry/departure, and security of all SURTASS controlled spaces.
- Ensure all rules and regulations are followed and report any violations.
- Responsible for the training of new personnel and continued training of experienced personnel.
- Acts as the Commanding Officer of the onboard COMSEC account.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
- Associates degree in electronic technology or equivalent military class "C" electronics maintenance school.
- 4 years of experience in electronics maintenance.
- Electronics maintenance background.
- Top Secret clearance.
- Qualified in all SURTASS positions.
- Experience on U.S. Navy electronics equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
- 600 sea days on the SURTASS program.
- Worked in position under instruction for 2 missions.
Pay Range
The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
