Location
We have multiple office locations in the United States, including Denver, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Phoenix, and San Francisco. Our team is spread across these locations, and we're open to considering candidates for any of our office sites.
Job Summary
We're seeking an experienced Patent Agent or Technical Advisor to join our team in Denver. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in preparing and prosecuting patent applications with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and foreign patent offices.
Key Responsibilities
- Patent Application Preparation
Our successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and prosecuting patent applications for our clients. This will involve working closely with our attorneys to document inventions and counsel clients on comprehensive IP strategy.
- Technical Guidance
The ideal candidate will provide technical guidance to our attorneys to assist clients in documenting inventions. This will require a strong understanding of patent law and the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly.
- IP Portfolio Management
We're looking for someone with experience in IP portfolio management. This will involve analyzing prior art, counseling clients on comprehensive IP strategy, and managing IP portfolios on behalf of our clients.
Requirements
- Registration with the USPTO
Registration with the USPTO is a plus, but not required. We're open to considering candidates who are currently registered or have the potential to register.
- Engineering Background
A Bachelor's Degree (or advanced degree) in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering is required. Industry experience is preferred but not required.
- Technical Skills
The ideal candidate will have excellent writing and communication skills, be detail-oriented, organized, and team-oriented. They will also have the ability to multi-task independently under deadlines, efficiently manage firm resources, and prioritize and manage case assignments.
Salary
The estimated salary for this position is between $105,000 and $200,000, depending on qualifications and experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including life, health, accident, and disability insurance, as well as a 401(k) plan.
