Commercial Auto Claims Representative - Liability

Main Objective: Analyze and process low to mid-level auto physical damage claims, with a preference for commercial auto claims experience and a current New York adjuster's license.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Process auto property damage claims, assess damage, make payments, and ensure claim files are properly documented and correctly coded based on the policy.
  • Develop and maintain action plans to meet state required contract deadlines and move the file towards prompt and appropriate resolution.
  • Identify and pursue subrogation opportunities, secure and dispose of salvage.
  • Communicate claim action/processing with insured, client, and agent or broker when necessary.
  • Maintain professional client relations.
  • Perform coverage, liability, and damage analysis on all claims assignments.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Support the organization's quality program(s).
  • Travel as required.

Qualifications:

Education & Licensing: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred, along with secure and maintained State adjusting licenses as required for the position.

Experience: Three years of personal line or commercial line auto physical damage claims management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience, including knowledge of construction basics, and property estimating software experience is a plus.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with personal and commercial lines policies and endorsements.
  • Ability to review and assess Property Damage estimates, total loss evaluations, and related expenses to effectively negotiate first and third-party claims.
  • Knowledge of total loss processing, State salvage forms, and title requirements.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, including presentation skills.
  • PC literate, including Microsoft Office products.
  • Analytical and interpretive skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to meet or exceed Service Expectations.

Mental: Clear and conceptual thinking ability; excellent judgment, troubleshooting, problem-solving, analysis, and discretion; ability to handle work-related stress; ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously; and ability to meet deadlines.

Physical: Computer keyboarding, travel as required.

Estimated Salary Range: $55,000, with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401k matching, PTO, disability, life insurance, employee assistance, flexible spending, health savings account, and additional voluntary benefits.
