Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Yellow Iron Mechanic to join our team at Callan Marine. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing all beach equipment owned by our company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive repair and maintenance program for equipment
  • Ensure all equipment is in good working condition and meets safety standards
  • Track and maintain accurate records of repairs and inspections
  • Requisition spare parts and materials as needed
  • Participate in safety and environmental initiatives to minimize risk and promote sustainability
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Vessel Manager
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Proven experience in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues
  • Experience in major engine repairs and maintenance
  • 5+ years of service experience and certification in Caterpillar machines
  • Ability to work safely and comply with all relevant regulations
  • Ability to work away from home for extended periods
  • Must be reliable, motivated, and able to work effectively in a team environment
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage stress and prioritize tasks effectively
Preferred Skills

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of heavy equipment maintenance and repair, as well as excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Physical and mental demands of the job include wearing personal protective equipment, lifting and carrying heavy objects, and working in various environmental conditions.
