Job Title: Laboratory Support Services Technician I

Cambrex Corporation is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Support Services Technician I to join our team. As a Laboratory Support Services Technician I, you will play a critical role in ensuring the cleanliness and organization of our laboratory facilities, as well as providing functional assistance for glassware maintenance, autoclave, and media preparation.

Responsibilities:
  • Wash and sanitize glassware to ensure it is free of any cracks, rings, or stains before returning it to use.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of various laboratories, sample storage areas, and the Laboratory Support Services work area.
  • Perform autoclaving activities, clean and prepare various equipment for sterilization, and monitor, stock, and prepare various media and PPE inventory in storage rooms, refrigerators, and laboratories as needed.
  • Conduct in-house water sampling and perform pH calibration.
  • Clearly and accurately document all Laboratory Support Services activities.
  • Balance and reagent verification.
  • Support Microbiology and Analytical Chemistry, and CRS laboratories through a variety of tasks.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree or certificate in a related science discipline, or a high school diploma with 1+ years of experience in a regulated environment.
  • Basic understanding of GMP requirements.
  • Good understanding of company SOPs and requirements.
  • Knowledge of appropriate gowning procedures required to safely perform assigned duties.
  • Follows written procedures; performs basic math calculations.
  • Promotes a safe work environment. Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and may be in clean room gowning for extended periods of time. Understands and follows safety procedures and works in a manner to avoid injury to self and coworkers.
  • Ability to work in a regulated environment (FDA/DEA/OSHA) and strictly follow procedures.
  • Effectively communicates both verbally and in writing. Ability to read and comprehend detailed written instructions.
  • Ability to clearly and concisely document all work activities in a timely manner utilizing existing forms and records. Writes legibly.
  • Performs basic math functions to include product accountability, material adjustment calculations, and rounding.
  • Ability to move materials through the facility using appropriate methods and equipment.
  • Operate machinery and read process control instruments to ensure proper operation.
  • Ability to clean rooms, equipment, and tools for use in cGMP environments.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attendance record.
  • Positive attitude and the ability to work in a team environment.
