Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Electrician to join our team at the M GE ELECTRICAL Department of the M GENERATION Division at Hawaiian Electric Company. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing, cleaning, and maintaining electrical equipment in generating stations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Test and locate electrical faults on control, power, and lighting circuits, as well as potential and current transformer wiring, motors, and starters.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including varnishing windings, rewedgeing, and replacing parts.
  • Install and replace wiring on control switchboard panels and service exciter and collector ring brushes.
  • Inspect and change taps on transformers, check connections, and repair leaks and wipe bushings.
  • Direct the work of lower classified personnel on electrical operations.
  • Assume an emergency management role and perform specific assignments or functions as needed.
Requirements
  • Ability to identify and distinguish different colors and color hues.
  • Graduate of Electrician Apprentice Program or equivalent training and experience.
  • Must pass Company Written Job Knowledge Test (Journeyman, 1st yr.).
  • Must have or be able to qualify for a State of Hawaii driver's license.
