Job Summary:

Campus Health Services at the University of Louisville is seeking a Counselor II to provide individual, group, and couples therapy, as well as crisis intervention to students on the HSC campus. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in counseling or a related field and 2 years of experience in a clinical or counseling setting. The position requires licensure to function autonomously in KY and eligibility to provide clinical supervision to graduate student trainees.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide evidence-based and culturally competent counseling services to HSC students
Conduct substance abuse assessments and interventions
Assist in evaluating high-risk cases and participating in campus crisis response
Coordinate care with Campus Health Service primary care and psychiatric providers
Conduct outreach presentations on mental health topics to HSC students and minority groups

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience in an educational environment
Prior experience in a medical/healthcare setting
Experience working with eating disorder clients
Experience working with all types of trauma
Prior experience working with diverse populations

Competencies:

Understanding of Federal, State, and University regulations and policies
Ability to interact with diverse constituencies
Experience with group counseling
Experience in applying psychology to developmental, social, and educational purposes
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Computer skills, including electronic charting systems, email, MS Word, and PowerPoint
