The Field Operations Technician plays a crucial role in the operational, mechanical, and instrument/electrical aspects of our business. Employees in this role may also engage in environmental or safety-related tasks as part of their duties.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, inspection, and repair of end devices and electrical systems.
• Perform routine inspections of equipment and facilities, including equipment health checks and operation of natural gas liquid pump and meter stations.
• Execute pipeline pigging, filter changes, and ILI tool runs.
• Manage the startup, shutdown, and operation of NGL equipment.
• Provide technical support for installations, maintenance, and repairs of mechanical, electrical, and rotating equipment.
• Conduct planned maintenance checks and calibration, submitting reports in a timely manner.
• Read and interpret P&IDs.
• Enhance I&E skills through training sessions and on-the-job experience.
• Maintain pipeline right-of-way, including markers, signs, and vegetation management.
• Ensure compliance with One-Call - Pipeline Locating, encroachment, excavation, and crossing.
• Keep records in accordance with pipeline regulatory standards.
• Perform routine inspections, calibration, and repair of measurement meters and associated equipment.
• Assist in pulling composite samples and verifying measurement meters.
• Maintain and repair mechanical equipment such as block valves, control valves, and air compressors.
• Conduct routine inspections of fixed equipment like filters and dehydration systems.
• Operate PLC and HMI equipment, as well as pipeline valves and actuators.
• Maintain and repair motor control systems.
Required Qualifications:
• Legally authorized to work in the job posting country.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in oil and gas operations.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and exert pulling force of 130 pounds.
• Willingness to work extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Comfortable working in various conditions, including inside gas plants and outdoors in inclement weather.
• Ability to work in a loud environment and perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Completion of a technical school program.
• 5 or more years of experience in pipeline maintenance or operations, I&E, and mechanical pump experience.
• Familiarity with Allen Bradley Control/Compact Logic or Siemens Control systems.
• Knowledge of VFD drives and troubleshooting electrical issues on 240, 480, and 4160v systems.
• Ability to read manufacturer specifications or blueprints for complex systems.
• Experience in repairing and installing instrumentation and electrical equipment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
