Caregiver - Developmental Disabilities

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Specialist to join our team at Arc GLOW. As a DSP, you will play a vital role in providing daily care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, empowering them to live fulfilling lives.
Key Responsibilities- Provide daily care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, including assistance with daily living skills, personalized goals, and recreational activities.
- Assist and encourage individuals to care for their immediate personal needs, promoting independence and self-advocacy.
- Participate in planning daily activities and engage in small group activities, fostering a sense of community and social connection.
- Document all program data accurately and timely, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration with the team.
- Provide transportation as needed, utilizing agency vehicles to ensure safe and reliable transportation.
- Utilize various software platforms for specific job functions, staying up-to-date with the latest technology and tools.
- Obtain and maintain medication certification, ensuring the highest level of care and support for individuals.
- Prepare meals and snacks, promoting healthy eating habits and nutrition.
- Work collaboratively with the team, fostering a positive and supportive work environment.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid NYS driver's license with a safe driving record.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with individuals, families, and colleagues.
- Willingness to learn new skills, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Basic computer skills, with the ability to navigate software platforms and tools.
