Position Overview

This role is integral to overseeing the daily functions of the training framework; establishing and sustaining a dynamic model of all management tools, protocols, and processes on production lines. The position will aid in bridging the gap between theoretical training, On-Job-Training [the training line(s)], and a member's operational line for cohesive application of all necessary management tools across all tiers of Team Member Management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Under the guidance of the 3-Pillar Promoter, adhere to Company, Department, and Section Level KPI Hoshin Kanri objectives.
  • Standardize and deliver training sessions, emphasizing effective training methodologies to empower newly trained Members Managers in building their teams with confidence and efficiency, ensuring long-term company stability and growth.
  • Oversee, mentor, and guide various levels of Members Managers.
  • Maintain KPIs [Safety, Quality, Production, Cost, Self-Maintenance, Human Resources Environmental] of the training line through the application of the 9 Tools of Line Management and the 3 Pillar Management Tools (SDCA).
  • Evaluate processes for ongoing enhancement (KPI Theme Analysis) and direct activities within the training area (PDCA).
  • Preserve the 9 Tools of Line Management as a living model for each practice.
  • Uphold the 3 Pillar Management Tools as a living model for each practice.
  • Identify and prepare training needs and plans.
  • Establish and organize T/M daily work (Standardized work) for the training process.
  • Collaborate with 3 Pillar Instructors, ALC Training, Manufacturing Department, and Support Departments to formulate training plans for all identified Members Managers, utilizing the training line as a practical example to connect training materials with implementation stages on their operational line.
  • Support the initiatives of other sections within the company to meet objectives and targets through the training process as a practical example and company KPIs.
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of all Line-side training materials into sustainable practices.
  • Conduct morning, AFMS, Jishu-ken, CFT, OA up, and training meetings as necessary.
  • Implement contingency plans for training processes when required.
  • Determine Kanban settings and Kanban Flow for training materials.
  • Execute all duties in compliance with relevant safety and security standards.
  • Adhere to 3-Pillar operational standards (rule, tool, technical skill).
  • Continuously enhance standards to ensure accessibility for all (rule, tool, technical skill).
  • Implement numerous minor improvements in line, process, and operation to achieve a seamless workflow.
  • Assist in the training of managers on their operational lines.
  • Support (as needed) with new hire orientation to AEIL (training line introduction, off-line training coordination, etc.).
  • Facilitate the establishment of a contact window for improvements (Safety, Quality, Maintenance, Human Resources, and Productivity).
  • Be adaptable in scheduling and hours for the benefit of the Company/Section.
  • Create Production Reports and Videos (Before and After Improvement).
  • Benchmark against competitors, other plants, and departments to perpetually enhance standards.
  • Utilize plans for Manufacturing Section targets, which may include assisting with planning, adherence to fixed asset budgets, and other responsibilities.
  • Aim to achieve gold standard. Innovate and improve.
  • Perform all other reasonably related tasks as required by Management.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This position will manage and direct training line Han-Cho team members and trainees from other lines (Members Managers).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Familiarity with Federal, State, and local applicable training guidelines and requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and PowerPoint.
  • General knowledge of ECU, Mounting, Sensor, Electric Water Pump processes.

Work Environment
  • Open Manufacturing area with ongoing activity and interaction with cross-functional divisions, departments, and sections. Must be able to effectively switch tasks at a moment's notice when required.
  • Exposure to dust, noise, oils, greases, grinding debris, compressed air, metal shavings, propane, solvents, and occasional lifting.
  • Minimal exposure to hazardous machinery and/or conditions that could result in injury if safety measures are not followed.
  • Minimal exposure to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, fumes, and oils. The performance of this position typically requires exposure similar to general office work, with few exceptions. Certain areas necessitate the use of personal protective equipment such as safety shoes and safety glasses.

  • Electronics background and/or experience desired.
  • Automotive industry experience desired.
