Produce Inventory Specialist

The role involves managing the ordering, restocking, and presentation of fresh produce while engaging in regional purchasing and promotional initiatives. The individual will oversee inventory management and ensure product availability according to established ordering protocols. Key Responsibilities- Procures and restocks produce in alignment with effective purchasing strategies.
- Monitors and responds to open purchase order reports for timely and accurate processing.
- Minimizes waste and spoilage while achieving inventory turnover goals.
- Completes necessary documentation such as spoilage reports and temperature logs.
- Enhances sales opportunities through strategic stocking and merchandising practices.
- Ensures timely and precise ordering to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Facilitates customer special orders efficiently.
- Analyzes product transfers and waste management.
- Assists leadership with inventory assessments.
- Maintains financial performance by meeting purchasing and sales objectives.
- Arrives punctually, well-groomed, and prepared for work; adheres to scheduled shifts and participates in required training.
- Delivers exceptional customer service, promptly addressing customer needs and employing suggestive selling techniques.
- Maximizes sales through effective product preparation, storage, and merchandising.
- Follows established protocols for health, safety, and sanitation practices.
- Ensures a clean and sanitary working environment, maintaining equipment according to safety standards.
- Completes assigned opening, mid, and closing tasks, ensuring accuracy in signage and pricing.
- Reports safety hazards and compliance issues immediately.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by leadership.
- In-depth knowledge of produce products, including sourcing, distribution, and seasonal trends.
- Willingness to learn about nutritional information and product specifics.
- Proficient in produce merchandising standards.
- Desire to grow within the produce team.
- Ability to educate team members on product knowledge enthusiastically.
- Strong foundational math skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ordering systems.

- Exposure to approved cleaning chemicals and varying temperatures.
- Ability to work in both wet and dry conditions.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
- Familiarity with tools and equipment, including knives and pallet jacks.
- May require the use of ladders.
