Role Summary:
The Substance Use Disorder Professional/Trainee (SUDP/T) is an integral part of our Behavioral Health and Counseling team. Through consistent interaction with patients, the counselor helps achieve key treatment objectives. Following agency policies and local, state, and federal guidelines, the counselor will provide assessments, individual and group counseling, case management, and coordinate overall patient care.
- Location: This is a full-time onsite position.
- Compensation: The pay range for the SUDP/T position varies based on licensure.
- Work Hours: The position typically requires early morning shifts, with some Saturday work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance community health and safety by addressing substance use and homelessness.
- Engage in initiatives aimed at overcoming societal and organizational challenges related to inequity.
- Implement established agency policies and treatment protocols with assigned patients.
- Conduct assessments, provide counseling, and manage cases for patients.
- Maintain professional boundaries and ensure confidentiality in all interactions.
- Document all patient interactions accurately and promptly.
- Lead or co-lead therapy and educational groups.
- Participate in treatment team meetings to review patient progress.
- May require local travel for agency-related duties.
Qualifications:
- Licensure: Active Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) or Trainee Certification in Washington State.
- Education: Relevant academic training in social services and substance use disorder treatment.
- Experience: Background in substance abuse treatment planning and counseling.
Skills:
- Commitment to racial justice and social equity.
- Ability to build effective relationships with diverse clients and staff.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and adaptable to technological changes.
