Job Summary

The Child Care Attendant provides exceptional customer service to guests, patients, and families while ensuring a safe and clean environment for children. This role involves interacting with children to create a stimulating and fun atmosphere, while also handling complaints and situations effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer phone calls, take messages, and schedule children into the area according to established policies and procedures.
  • Effectively handle complaints and situations, exercising good judgment to arrive at effective solutions.
  • Greet parents and children, ensuring registration in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Provide a safe and clean environment for children, ensuring they interact safely with each other and intervening as necessary.
  • Maintain and re-stock inventory and supplies in the play area, while also monitoring toys and supplies that come into contact with children.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested by the Front Desk Lead and/or Front Desk Manager.

Requirements

  • No prior experience required.
  • Requires BLS for healthcare providers.
  • Knowledge of child development principles and practices.

Work Environment

This position is employed by NC Health, a private, fully-owned subsidiary of UNC Health Care System. The work schedule is variable, and the location is in Lenoir, NC.
