Job SummaryThe Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as a caregiver to residents in long-term care, providing resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). The NA is responsible for assisting residents with daily living activities, such as bathing, toileting, and grooming, as well as providing psychosocial support and other personal care.
Responsibilities- Assist residents with daily living activities, including bathing, toileting, and grooming
- Provide psychosocial support and other personal care to assigned residents
- Assist with meal preparation and dining, creating a positive dining experience for residents
- Document resident interactions and outcomes related to resident care, behavior, activity, and dietary
- Communicate resident's changing condition and care-related concerns/responses to the charge nurse
High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required. Minimum age of 16. Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred. Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement.
