CHI St. Alexius Health operates a regional health network that includes a tertiary hospital in Bismarck, along with critical access hospitals and numerous clinics throughout the region. Our organization is dedicated to providing a comprehensive range of inpatient and outpatient medical services, including a Level II Trauma Center, primary and specialty physician clinics, and various ancillary services.
Responsibilities
Job Summary / Purpose
Engage in all aspects of pharmaceutical services, encompassing drug distribution and clinical services, while upholding the dignity and worth of every individual and ensuring cost-effectiveness.
Essential Key Job Responsibilities
1. Monitor drug therapy and communicate findings and recommendations to relevant healthcare professionals.
2. Assess medication orders for appropriateness, including dosage, frequency, indications, and potential drug interactions.
3. Prepare and verify intravenous admixtures.
4. Actively participate in clinical services such as pharmacokinetic monitoring, TPN calculations, anticoagulant management, and microbiology culture monitoring.
5. Provide timely and accurate drug information.
6. Support formulary management decisions and prepare formulary monographs for the System P&T Committee.
7. Adhere to current policies and procedures; contribute to the writing, revising, and reviewing of departmental policies.
8. Participate in the review and reporting of medication events and adverse drug reactions as assigned.
Maintain professionalism and leadership standards by providing in-service training, writing articles for newsletters, and completing mandatory education and competencies.
Support the residency program by assisting in recruitment efforts and completing evaluations as required.
Qualifications
Required Education
Graduate of a College of Pharmacy with a minimum of a Baccalaureate Degree in Pharmacy.
Required Licensure and Certifications
Licensed as a pharmacist in the state of North Dakota in good standing.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Proficiency in computer systems and training to provide pharmaceutical care to patients of all ages.
PREFERRED Qualifications
Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
Pay Range
$25.22 /hour
