Pharmacy Assistant

As a Pharmacy Technician at CHI St. Alexius Health, you will play a vital role in providing pharmaceutical care services and participating in all phases of drug distribution. Your primary responsibility will be to assist pharmacists in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of medication dispensing.
Key Responsibilities- Attain completion of department goals and objectives as identified in the last performance appraisal.
- Successfully complete job-specific competencies.
- Maintain proficiency in Pharmacy Materials Management Specialist duties and responsibilities.
- Process orders, date-check inventory, and process paperwork for medication sales to clinics and other entities.
- Actively participate in Retail Pharmacy operations, including ongoing training of new employees, monitoring product recalls, and processing returns.
- Coordinate deliveries of medication and maintain proficiency in the general maintenance of the PARATA robotic system.
- Receive verbally transmitted prescriptions from authorized prescribers and serve as a key customer contact in the retail environment.
- Participate in committees representing outpatient pharmacy and/or pharmacy technicians on local, regional, or national levels.
- Proactively anticipate and respond to changes in workload.
- Maintain proficiency in pharmacy outpatient software processes and prescription processing.
- Inventory management, prescription filing, and completion of HealthStream FWA training are also essential responsibilities.
A high school graduate with successful completion of an academic pharmacy technician program or completion of self-study modules/training as approved by the North Dakota Board of Pharmacy is required. Previous retail and/or hospital pharmacy experience is preferred, along with computer proficiency and the ability to relate well with staff, patients, and visitors.
