Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Behavioral Health Counselor to join our team at Acadia Healthcare. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will provide individual and group therapy to patients, documenting their progress and ensuring that all necessary documentation is completed in a timely and accurate manner.

Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group therapy to patients, documenting their progress and treatment plans.
  • Ensure that all necessary documentation regarding patient care, treatment, and incidents is completed in a clear and concise manner.
  • Develop and present didactic material to patients, promoting their understanding and engagement in their treatment plans.
  • Conduct family sessions and document patient progress as needed.
  • Provide crisis intervention to patients as needed, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Plan aftercare for assigned patients, ensuring their continued support and guidance.
  • Evaluate patient needs and determine if psychiatric referral is necessary.
  • Assist in training new clinical staff and interns, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.
  • Complete mandatory Essential Learning courses, staying up-to-date on best practices and industry developments.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in behavioral health or a related field.
  • At least two years of clinical experience working with chemically dependent and dually diagnosed populations.
  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) preferred.
