Position Overview

This role is integral to the In-Space Systems division, dedicated to the design, production, and operation of satellite systems that tackle critical challenges in space mobility. As a key member of our diverse engineering team, you will take charge of substantial electrical integration and testing initiatives for space vehicles. Your responsibilities will encompass the integration of electrical subsystems into spacecraft and ensuring their compatibility with Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE). In a fast-paced environment, you will formulate test strategies, oversee the development of test procedures and scripts, and lead electrical test execution throughout vehicle integration, culminating in final testing before launch.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the organization and coordination of essential resources to effectively test electrical systems for development and verification.
  • Collaborate with design engineers across various systems to create functional tests and incorporate system verification requirements into detailed test plans.
  • Oversee Test Design Reviews, Integration Readiness Reviews, and Test Readiness Reviews for your projects.
  • Manage multiple test projects concurrently.
  • Identify, communicate, and mitigate risks related to cost, schedule, and technical aspects.
  • Contribute to the mentoring and training of team members.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience with test, flight, and safety-critical hardware, tools, and equipment.
  • A minimum of 4 years in spacecraft/satellite functional test development, hardware ownership, or hardware qualification and acceptance testing.
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Physics, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Hands-on experience in developing test infrastructure, integrating test articles, and testing Major Assembly Spacecraft Test Articles with a focus on electrical systems.
  • Proficiency in analytical and scripting tools such as Matlab, LabView, Python, and C++.
  • Strong verbal, written, and graphical communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Competence in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, standards, and technical requirements.
  • Experience in data analysis and presentation of technical information in a clear, compelling format.
  • Strong safety mindset and experience, including hands-on planning and conducting critical operations.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or legally admitted into the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in hands-on testing and production environments.
  • Familiarity with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) or system integration labs (SIL).
  • Experience with requirements development/management tools such as DOORS and lifecycle management (PLM).
  • Hands-on testing experience in thermal, vibration, shock, and vacuum testing on flight hardware.
