Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Therapist to join our team. The successful candidate will provide Speech-Language Pathology services to patients, assist with coordination of departmental activities, and adhere to hospital policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Adhere to hospital policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate business practices and personal actions that are ethical and adhere to corporate compliance and integrity guidelines.
  • Assess patient needs by selecting, administering, and interpreting appropriate evaluation tools.
  • Educate patient and family members regarding evaluation findings and recommendations/plan of care.
  • Develop goals that are functional, developmentally appropriate, time-sensitive, and measurable.
  • Comply with clinical documentation requirements.
  • Develop, instruct, and verify an understanding of the home program as appropriate with patients and family members.
  • Participate in patient care-related team meetings and departmental meetings.
  • Participate in process improvement.
  • Communicate with referring and community physicians to maximize patient care, establish a professional relationship, and develop a consistent referral base.
  • Maintain billable productivity level as required.
  • Generate suggestions for improving work processes.
  • Provide Holiday/Weekend on-call/patient-care coverage as needed.
  • Provide in-services within the department, hospital, and professional and lay communities.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of evidence-based practice.
  • Demonstrate the ability to use computer/software applications required for the job.
  • Comply with infection control responsibilities in the department.
  • Assume the role of care coordinator when appropriate.
  • Occasionally drive for Driscoll Children's Hospital business.
  • May occasionally participate in a community visit for the benefit of the patient.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders.
  • Doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders.

Compensation: $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience.
