Job Title: Operating Room Surgical Aide

Mass General Brigham is seeking a skilled and dedicated Operating Room Surgical Aide to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms.

Job Summary:

The Operating Room Surgical Aide will work under the direct supervision of the registered professional nurse, the Pod Leader, and the Operating Room Charge Nurse. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Transporting patients to and from the Operating Room and other locations
  • Assisting nursing staff in the rooms with patient care, including positioning and transfer of anesthetized patients
  • Performing shave preps on surgical patients, according to established guidelines
  • Delivering specimens and blood products to and from the Laboratory and Radiology
  • Maintaining inventory levels of specified stock items in the Operating Room
  • Preparing stretchers and oxygen tanks for patient transport
  • Between-case cleaning to minimize turnaround between surgical procedures
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Satisfactory references
  • CPR training
