About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our multidisciplinary surgical services team at Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH). As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in the endoscopy department, responsible for preparing and maintaining the operating room environment, as well as assisting with the peri-operative care of patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain the operating room environment, ensuring a safe and efficient workspace for surgical procedures.
  • Assist with the peri-operative care of patients, including preparing patients for surgery, positioning them for procedures, and maintaining a sterile environment.
  • Work closely with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth and efficient surgical procedures.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of sterile techniques and protocols, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Current experience in Operating Room or Ambulatory Surgery is required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program.
  • Current Surgical Technologist Certification is required within one year from the date of graduation from a surgical technologist program or have been employed as a surgical technologist in a surgical facility on or before July 1st, 2013.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1 year experience as Surgical Technologist in an Operating Room or Ambulatory Surgery is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
