About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our Building Maintenance and Operations (BMandO) team at NC State University. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for performing basic maintenance, operations, and repair of campus facilities, including building HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support to colleagues by troubleshooting and diagnosing simple facilities maintenance issues
  • Demonstrate proficiency in operating basic tools and equipment specific to assigned trades
  • Conduct repairs as required, including addressing leaks, checking boiler levels, assisting with pipe installations, performing basic preventive maintenance tasks, and executing elementary electrical and plumbing repairs
  • Monitor and record readings on boilers and chillers, promptly reporting any discrepancies and ensuring accurate equipment documentation
  • Maintain equipment to uphold the safety standards of the university, adhering strictly to established safe work practices
About Our Team

The BMandO department provides building system services for approximately 15 million gross square feet of campus facilities. We are unique in the facilities maintenance and operations field in the rapidly growing central NC region. Our facilities range from basic classroom/office type buildings to state-of-the-art animal care facilities and state-of-the-art research facilities.

Given the uniqueness of the facilities, technically qualified technicians are required to maintain and operate the building systems that create a physical environment for our campus customers that advances the University.
