Concrete Laborer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Concrete Crew Member to join our team at Fox Cities Builders. As a Concrete Crew Member, you will be responsible for assisting our onsite crews with a wide range of tasks, including raking and placing concrete, tying rebar, and setting and pouring concrete walls.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate concrete tools and equipment, including Fox Cities Builders owned equipment, and maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Adhere to Fox Cities Builders' safety culture, including the use of personal protective equipment and following safety protocols.
• Assist with setting up, pouring, and removing foundations, as well as setting up, pouring, and finishing flatwork.
• Participate in the installation of agricultural and commercial concrete systems.
• Ensure the project site remains clean and professional in appearance daily.
• Maintain equipment and tools in good condition, with all safety guards and features in place when in operation.
• Use, maintain, and inspect safety equipment and personal protective equipment prior to use.
• Maintain the overall safety of all personnel on the job site daily.
• Complete safety inspections as requested.
• Perform tasks safely and do not attempt to complete without proper training.
• Know the location of first aid kits, fire extinguishers, MSDS, egress routes, and emergency information when reporting to the job site.
• Attend and participate in all required safety trainings and toolbox talks.
• Ability and willingness to travel when required.
• Follow all company and customer policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
• Perform the job in a professional manner (appearance, language, behavior).

• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to follow all policy and procedures as set forth by Fox Cities Builders and their customers.
• Have own transportation to and from our facility, transportation to job sites from our facility is provided.
• Knowledge of the general construction industry and the sub-contractor trades.
• Ability to perform tasks and follow directions assigned by the Foreman and Superintendent accurately and within the specified timeframe.
• Must have mechanical aptitude and ability to handle physical and demanding requirements of the position.
• Ability to take pride in servicing the customer and having a strong commitment to quality.
• Ability to identify and troubleshoot problems before they become major issues.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time while maintaining attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate with basic understanding of the English language.
• Ability to work in all types of weather, including extreme heat, cold, snow, rain, or sleet-like conditions.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Required: Have and maintain a valid Driver's License.
• Required: General knowledge of the construction industry.
• Preferred 2+ years' of general concrete laborer experience.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds at times.
• Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and stand to operate and move heavy equipment.
• Must be physically able to climb ladders, stairs, and into equipment as needed.
• Must be physically able to walk on uneven, wet, slippery, or grainy surfaces.
• Must be able to work in all types of weather, including extremely hot and extremely cold temperatures, as well as in rain or snow-like conditions.
