The Position:

The Skills Trainer is responsible for creating personalized activity plans that help individuals achieve their goals and develop new skills.


Job Responsibilities:
  • Implement Person-Centered Individual Support Plans (PCISP) through active treatment and goal-oriented activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of individual progress and performance.
  • Develop and provide instructional training in vocational and recreational activities.
  • Identify and develop relationships with businesses to provide individuals with opportunities for skill growth.
  • Assist individuals in identifying accommodations and adaptive equipment to increase independence.
  • Provide advocacy and support to individuals with neglected or overlooked preferences, needs, or talents.
  • Address challenging behaviors proactively and respectfully, following established behavior management plans.
  • Provide transportation on community outings and maintain a positive working relationship with community resources and colleagues.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and review body standards, as well as ADEC policy and procedures.

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Ability to lift 60 pounds
  • Valid drivers license
  • Proof of car insurance
  • Pass background and negative drug test
