We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Permitting Intern to join our team for a 12-week paid internship program. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in environmental permitting, conservation, and mitigation of aquatic resources, protected species, and cultural resources for pipeline and facility projects.
Key Responsibilities- Preliminary pipeline routing and facility siting
- Interaction with state and federal agencies, project management staff, and other environmental permitting staff
- Permit application preparation and tracking experience
- Field visits to proposed projects or construction sites
- Enrollment in an undergraduate degree program majoring in Ecology, Biology, Wildlife Management, Forestry, Rangeland Ecology, Fisheries, Environmental Studies, Chemical Engineering, or Environmental Engineering
- Self-motivated individuals with involvement in activities outside college studies
- Strong willingness to learn
- Above-average GPA
- Proficiency with MS Office
- Willingness to travel
- Ability to organize, perform, and prioritize various functions in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to adapt well to rapidly changing priorities and responsibilities
- Ability to work as a team player effectively with a diverse workforce and with various levels within the organization
