Pharmacist Job Description

UPMC is seeking a skilled Pharmacist to join our team at McKeesport. As a Pharmacist, you will play a vital role in providing cost-effective pharmacotherapy and contributing to optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and maintain patient medication records and profiles for allergies, drug interactions, and therapeutic duplications.
  • Identify and report suspected adverse drug reactions accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Interpret and evaluate physician orders to prepare, calculate, and dispense appropriate medication dosage forms.
  • Organize daily operational duties and supervise pharmacy technicians, aides, and student interns.
  • Fill prescription orders in accordance with State and Federal regulations.
  • Provide drug information and educational programs to healthcare professionals and pharmacy students.
Requirements:
  • B.S. degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (Ph.D.) from an accredited school of pharmacy.
  • 3-6 months hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Previous experience or familiarity with investigational drug control procedures and protocol design preferred.
