Nurse Manager - Primary Care Job Description

Job Summary:

The Lynn Community Health Center is seeking a skilled Nurse Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our primary care team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for supervising, evaluating, and disciplining nursing staff, as well as collaborating with practice managers and providers to improve health outcomes and patient satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and evaluate nursing staff, including clinical assisting and team medical secretaries
  • Collaborate with practice managers and providers to improve health outcomes and patient satisfaction
  • Review phone messages, tickler files, and electronic health records for follow-up care and missed appointments
  • Attend operations, managers', nurses', infection control, TJC, and team meetings to share information with staff
  • Meet daily with clinical staff to discuss patient care and team performance
  • Assure that LCHC standards of care and policies/procedures are consistently followed
  • Render professional nursing care for the well-being of patients, including taking vital signs, providing wound care, administering medications and vaccines, and providing health teaching to patients and families
  • Triage phone calls to identify the most appropriate intervention for patients
  • Participate in the development of site goals, objectives, protocols, and procedures

Requirements:

  • Massachusetts Nursing license
  • Bachelor's Degree in nursing from an accredited program preferred
  • Master's Degree preferred
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish/Khmer/Russian with knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • A desire to work as a collaborative member of a multi-disciplinary team
