Camp Naturalist Position

Job Summary:

The Pennsylvania State University is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Camp Naturalist to join our team at Shaver's Creek. As a Camp Naturalist, you will be responsible for creating engaging and educational experiences for our campers, while ensuring their safety and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement lesson plans for campers, incorporating natural history and outdoor education principles.
• Lead games, activities, and explorations that promote learning and teamwork.
• Provide medical treatment and maintain records as needed.
• Assist with behind-the-scenes logistics and observe other staff members' teaching styles.
• Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to a positive and inclusive team environment.

Requirements:

• Experience working with children and youth in an outdoor education setting.
• Ability to create engaging and educational experiences for campers.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• First Aid and CPR certification.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
