The Pennsylvania State University is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Environmental Educator to join our team at Shaver's Creek summer camp. As a Camp Naturalist, you will be responsible for creating engaging and educational programs for children in a natural setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement lesson plans that promote environmental awareness and education.
- Lead groups of children in outdoor activities and games that foster teamwork and social skills.
- Provide support and guidance to assistant camp naturalists and Leaders-In-Training.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all campers and staff.
- Collaborate with other camp staff to plan and execute camp programs.
- Maintain accurate records and reports as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Education, Education, or a related field.
- Prior experience working with children in an outdoor education setting.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
