Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified Language Acquisition Teacher (LAT) to support our elementary school students in their English language development. Candidates must possess a valid ESL license issued by the appropriate educational authority.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver co-teaching and instructional support in general education classrooms with multilingual learners.
  • Provide targeted language interventions in small group settings.
  • Utilize English Language Development (ELD) levels and formative assessments to inform instruction and achieve language acquisition objectives.
  • Assist in managing the school's language acquisition programming, including necessary documentation and compliance with educational standards.
  • Maintain regular communication with families regarding student progress through various communication methods.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance understanding of language development best practices.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of two years of full-time experience in ESL, classroom, or special education, preferably in urban settings.
