POSITION SUMMARY:

The role is designed to uphold the mission and vision of the Substance Abuse Task Force while providing essential administrative support and acting as a representative for the Task Force. This position involves the execution of educational, preventive, and awareness initiatives. The manager will oversee the implementation of the DFC grant to bolster the Task Force's efforts. Collaboration with the Task Force Coordinator is crucial for recruiting and inspiring volunteers, as well as working alongside local and state administration, community departments, and citizens to deliver outreach, environmental interventions, and educational programs.

Vision and Mission of the Substance Abuse Task Force:

Vision: A community where youth are safeguarded from the adverse effects of alcohol, drugs, and nicotine.

Mission: To foster healthy attitudes and behaviors among youth and families through community engagement, focusing on the reduction and prevention of substance use and misuse.

WORK SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:

This is a full-time role, requiring a commitment of 35 hours per week or more. Given the responsibilities associated with this position, a flexible schedule is necessary, which may extend beyond standard working hours.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financial Management:

  • Collaborate with the Coordinator to monitor activities for assigned programs, reviewing analyses of activities, costs, and operations to assess progress towards objectives.

Program Development:

  • Conduct assessments to develop a logic model-based program.
  • Participate in all necessary training sessions to fulfill program requirements.
  • Generate statistical reports as requested by the Coordinator.
  • Attend coalition meetings and document minutes.
  • Achieve certification as a Prevention Specialist.
  • Engage in regular supervision sessions with the Program Coordinator.
  • Complete all required paperwork for data generation promptly.
  • Work collaboratively with other CCAP programs to ensure coordinated efforts and seamless service delivery.
  • Maintain productivity levels as defined by the Coordinator, adhering to program and CCAP standards.
  • Participate in program-related meetings as necessary.
  • Represent the Task Force at community events.
  • Engage in public relations activities for the Task Force.
  • Attend training and development opportunities.

Administrative Support:

  • Assist the Task Force in establishing and achieving goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Task Force to create an annual work plan focusing on prevention programming and policy development.
  • Support the Task Force Evaluator in collecting necessary data for reporting purposes.
  • Participate in meetings of the full Task Force and its subcommittees.
  • Represent the Task Force at community and state-level meetings related to substance abuse.
  • Maintain data and prepare reports for town, state, and funding agencies.
  • Assist in grant development processes, including reporting.
  • Attend required meetings and conferences as directed by the Task Force and relevant agencies.
  • Help recruit new members for the Task Force.

OTHER SKILLS:

  • Effective communication skills for presentations to groups, agency representatives, and CCAP staff.

Personnel Management:

  • Develop orientation and training programs for volunteers as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field, with a preference for candidates with two years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in substance abuse prevention is preferred.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to convey essential information to supervise staff effectively.
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and automobile insurance.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
  • Must provide and maintain all required immunizations and vaccinations.

CONFIDENTIALITY:

Access to all component case management records and some administrative and financial information is required. Confidentiality must be maintained in accordance with State and Federal laws and CCAP policies.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical requirements of this position include regular sitting and talking, frequent use of hands and arms, occasional standing and walking, and the ability to lift and move up to 20 lbs. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The work environment is primarily an office setting with potential exposure to health risks requiring adherence to safety protocols.
