Position Overview:
This role presents an exceptional opportunity to join the leading cancer center in Tennessee. Our academically-oriented radiation oncology facility caters to a diverse patient population, addressing a wide range of ages, socio-economic backgrounds, and treatment complexities. Our clinic is equipped with advanced technology, including multiple linear accelerators and computed tomography scanners, facilitating the treatment of numerous patients daily. We offer a variety of sophisticated treatment modalities, such as stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT), volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT), intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), and intraoperative radiation therapy (IORT). Beyond clinical care, VICC is actively engaged in educational initiatives, including residency programs in radiation oncology and medical physics, ensuring that our patients receive cutting-edge treatment while participating in innovative clinical trials.
The radiation therapist plays a vital role within the radiation oncology team, responsible for the precise administration of therapeutic radiation treatments and simulations under the guidance of a radiation oncologist. A comprehensive understanding of radiation therapy principles, along with strong patient assessment and communication skills, is essential for success in this position.
Incentives:
- Sign-On Bonus: $8,000 (taxable) over one year, applicable only to new hires.
- Relocation Assistance: Up to $10,000 (taxable) for relocations exceeding 100 miles, contingent upon hire.
- Employee Referral Bonus: $5,000 (taxable) for successful referrals of full-time new hires.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer daily radiation therapy treatments efficiently and accurately for a diverse patient demographic.
- Maintain comprehensive records of treatments and other necessary documentation.
- Participate in the training and orientation of new radiation therapists, ensuring adherence to established protocols.
- Conduct computed tomography (CT) simulations and clinical simulations following departmental guidelines.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Technical Skills:
- Patient Documentation: Proficient in maintaining accurate patient records.
- Training: Capable of delivering training modules effectively.
- Computed Tomography Technology: Familiar with the application of CT technology in clinical settings.
- Radiation Therapy: Skilled in administering radiation treatments to patients of all ages.

Qualifications:
