Electronics Assembler (Mechanical)

Job Description:
Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, the Electronics Assembler will assemble and install electrical-mechanical and electronic components in telemetry systems according to specifications, using fixtures and jigs, hand tools, and equipment. The assembler will read work instructions, drawings, and specifications to determine assembly methods and ensure compliance with engineering and company quality system procedures.
Essential Functions:
1. Assemble and handle products, equipment, and materials per engineering and company quality system procedures.
2. Perform program-specific tasks as required to ensure compliance with individual program requirements.
3. Assemble printed wiring boards from engineering drawings and sketches using surface mount hardware and a microscope.
4. Cut wire to specified lengths, using wire cutters, and crimp terminal eyelets and lugs to wire ends, using hand or machine crimping devices.
5. Route, comb, twist, wrap, tie, and attach wire to terminal points, according to layout, using hand tools.
6. Connect wiring to accessories, such as connectors, plugs, and switches, and install accessory assemblies in electrical or electronic units, using hand tools.
7. Pot or encapsulate electrical and electronic components and assemblies.
8. Follow company procedures for corrective action and notify the Production Supervisor if a defect is identified to obtain guidance and assistance in resolving the problem.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 months of prior related experience.
