About BEAM for Summer Roles
BEAM is a non-profit organization that creates pathways for students from low-income and historically marginalized communities to become scientists, mathematicians, engineers, and computer scientists. Our mission is to provide continuous support from middle school through college graduation, including intense academic summer programs, weekend classes, mentoring, and STEM-focused support.
We work with students on mathematics, both one-on-one and as teaching assistants, and run social and community activities. Our model provides access to advanced math and support finding and applying to other opportunities, including college admissions and financial aid. We believe that pathways to STEM careers are created through community, individual support, and access to advanced work.
Job Description
- Run social and community activities
- Work with students on mathematics, both one-on-one and as a teaching assistant
- Livest in the dorms as a student hall leader
Requirements
- Strong mathematical background
- Reliable and take initiative
- Charismatic and able to help kids have fun
