About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Avita Pharmacy. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting our Pharmacists with preparing and dispensing prescribed medications, as well as providing exceptional patient care and education.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Remove medications from stock and accurately count, pour, or mix pharmaceuticals
  • Place products into containers and affix labels as required
  • Package and repackage medications as needed
  • Verify and re-verify insurance benefits to ensure accurate billing
  • Interact with patients and team members to develop and maintain positive, professional relationships
  • Answer incoming and make outbound calls to patients, case managers, providers, and insurance companies
  • Handle payment transactions at the Point of Service (POS) and reconcile beginning and end-of-day transactions
  • Coordinate prescription deliveries and proactively identify and analyze problems to provide effective solutions
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Active registration as a Licensed Pharmacy Technician in good standing with the Board of Pharmacy (BOP) in South Carolina
  • Active State-Certification in SC as a Pharmacy Technician in good standing with the Board of Pharmacy (BOP) and Nationally-Certified via PTCB or NHA
  • One or more years of related Pharmacy Technician experience
  • Proficient in English with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Spanish language skills a plus
  • Strong typing and data-entry skills
  • Reliable mode of transportation to get to and from our pharmacy on a regular daily basis
  • Positive attitude, energetic, flexible, excellent phone etiquette, and exceptional customer service skills
