Pharmacy Technician Job Description

Spectrum Healthcare Resources is seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at CMOP in Charleston, SC. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacy services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and dispense medications, and maintain related records for patients.
  • Prepare, package, label, and distribute medication doses prescribed by physician.
  • Maintain inventories of drugs and supplies, stocking shelves, rotating stock, and checking expiration date of pharmaceuticals.
  • Read computer screens, use scanning equipment, select specific drugs/products required to fill an order by name, strength, and National Drug Code (NDC) number.
  • Supervisory tasks include day-to-day administration of assigned operational area (production floor) and to coordinate activities with other productions areas.
  • Orient new contract technicians and assist with the evaluating performance.
Requirements:
  • Certified Technicians (CPhT) shall hold a current valid certification by the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT).
  • Non-certified technicians must have 6 months of experience (unless otherwise authorized by the respective CMOP) in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting; or be a graduate of an Academic Technician Training Educational Program.
  • Certified Technician (CPhT) with a current valid certification by the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday, 2 shifts available: 6:00 am - 2:30 pm or 3:30 pm - 12:00 am.
