Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team at Kingsville ISD. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing speech-language pathology services to students with communication disorders, assessing students, and providing therapeutic intervention to address speech, voice, or language issues affecting educational progress.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Therapy:
    • Provide individual and group therapy consistent with students' IEP goals
    • Monitor student progress and determine therapy termination readiness
  • Assessment:
    • Conduct evaluations to determine service eligibility
    • Interpret assessment data and participate in ARD committee meetings
  • Consultation:
    • Work with parents and teachers to improve student communication skills
    • Provide professional development to school staff regarding student deficits
  • Student Management:
    • Create a conducive learning environment
    • Administer discipline according to school policies
  • Program Management:
    • Supervise speech-language pathology support staff
    • Evaluate services and make necessary adjustments
  • Administration:
    • Maintain documentation, comply with regulations, and participate in professional development
  • Supervisory Responsibilities:
    • Direct and monitor speech-language therapy staff
Requirements:
  • Education/Certification:
    • Master's degree in speech-language pathology
    • Valid Texas speech-language pathologist license
  • Skills:
    • Proficient in evaluation and treatment of communication disorders
    • Ability to manage student behavior effectively
    • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience:
    • Preferably three years of clinical speech-language pathology experience
Working Conditions:
  • Maintain emotional control under stress
  • Travel to multiple work locations; perform moderate lifting and carrying tasks

Supervisors of speech-language assistants must hold a speech-language pathologist license.
