- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification and registration is mandatory.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is essential.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
The primary role of the Cath Lab Technologist is to deliver expert technical care to patients undergoing a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic interventions in the Cardiac Catheterization/Special Procedures Lab. This position involves assisting physicians during procedures and managing the technical equipment utilized throughout.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing the procedure room and equipment.
- Instructing patients and monitoring their condition.
- Providing both routine and emergency care during procedures.
- Operating with minimal supervision while contributing positively to the department's atmosphere.
- Ensuring 24-hour coverage when on call to facilitate timely patient care interventions.
- Carrying out additional assigned duties as necessary.
- A minimum of 2 years of significant experience in a Cath Lab environment is preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in basic invasive cardiovascular techniques and technologies.
- Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Days
- Schedule: 4x 10
This role requires collaboration within a team of professionals with similar skills and responsibilities. The technologist must handle emergency situations during high-risk procedures with a calm and professional demeanor.
Additional Information- Travelers may be required to float to local facilities.
